When we’re not talking books, selling books, sourcing books or dreaming books, we are also very interested in Genealogy, Family and Local History.
Working closely with Southern Uplands Past Finders, we’re often able to donate books on various aspects of local and family history to the Research Centre at Wanlockhead Community Centre.
In the shop we have a dedicated section for the Dumfries and Galloway area as well as Scotland as a whole so if you’re looking for books related to regional or national topics, pop in and take a look.
You can visit the Southern Uplands Past Finders at the community centre during its opening hours or by appointment by emailing them. There is FREE access to Ancestry, British Newspaper Archive and Scotlands People via the community centre laptop and they also offer help in helping people trace their ancestors whether they lived locally or further afield.
A small charge is made for printing of documents to cover the costs of materials.
