The Book Warren and the Book Warren Bothy is a rural based business selling new and vintage books, maps, book related gifts. We also sell and redeem National Book Tokens. We moved to the beautiful Southern Uplands of Scotland near to the historic town of Sanquhar. We’re currently building a new purpose built shop due to launch later in 2024 and we also have a fabulous pop-up bookshop at Burnside Tearoom and Filling Station, Sanquhar.
Prior to our move to Mennock we operated our Bookshop and Café having opened in 2018 we set about creating the award winning The Book Warren and Cafe.
A bit about the two of us: Lindsay Warren grew up in Buckinghamshire, her family having moved from Scotland in the early 60’s. Growing up in a family business with three younger sisters, Lindsay would often be found with her head in a book whilst playing her favourite music. After a varied career working for large corporate businesses and smaller enterprises Lindsay made a life changing decision and with Andy’s help her dream came true. Lindsay has a number of interests and hobbies including castles, church architecture, British history, genealogy, travelling, gardening and cooking.
Andy Warren was born in Cambridge and grew up in the rural village of Over, a few miles west of the city. His parents owned the village Post Office before moving and opening a B&B in the same village. Andy operates his own Painting, Decorating and household maintenance business and enjoys motorcycling and travelling.
Lindsay and Andy currently live with their two dogs and lots of books!
